Podcast 1 Thoughts

My podcast topic is safe driving habits and practices. It will cover everything from preventive maintainance activities such as oil changes and transmission fluid flushes to how you should properly navigte a construction zone. As far as I know, nobody else in this class is podcasting about my topic so it should be fairly unique. My biggest challenge for the first podcast was getting the software to work for me. Multiple times I saved a file in the podcast suite only to have it corrupted or somehow altered. That aspect of the project was extremely frustrating. I had a presentable version of my podcast prepared and saved, however, somewhere in the changover from the podcast suite to the lab, the ending was butchered. I am unsure as to why exactly this happened, but I got a string of error messages about 8-bit audio files and things of that nature. Being completely unfamiliar with Macs, my initial experiences have not been positive.

My greatest challenge will definitely be adapting to the Mac ways. I still lack a full understanding of basic operations while using a Mac workstation, and I feel like that's definitely hindering my progress in this class so far. The only way to overcome that challenge is to work through it, so I will continue to try my best to understand how Macs work and how I can use them to my advantage. Until then, I'm lost.

Awesome man, I'll definetely be tunning in to your podcast and blog to lean how I should be driving! lol. Sounds good man, and if you help me do my own oil change, I'll help you with those pesky "Mac ways"!

I think this is a very interesting topic that I will listen to. This actually sounds like a radio show and I did not notice any editing or speaking problems. I know what you mean about getting used to the macs but you did a good job.

Really enjoyed your blog and the description of the problems you are having. Your writing has a real voice. Also, you actual voice is great for broadcasting. The topic is something I know a lot of students should learn about. I couldn't hear the outro music but I think that is a result of what you mentioned about switching your podcast to the MAC computer. Other than fixing that, I thought it great.

I really really liked your podcast. The intro music was great because it had like a siren sound which fit in nicely. You sound so enthusiastic and interested in your topic and it totally shows in the tone of your voice. Great job!

Great job man, I would have never thought that you put this together right before class. I'm liking the construction update, since Lubbock is always changing the orange cones.

There seemed to be a drop in the volume when you started talking about construction. Other than that, some specific topics so people can know when to tune in and for what, that would be helpful.

LOL, I love the podcast. I come from San Antonio so it's nice to hear someone giving tips on how to drive and how to maintain a good vehicle. Also, I like the road updates, this place can be a confusing place to drive sometimes. Your voice sounded great. It was very strong, smooth, and relaxed. I'm excited for your next episode.
